From where these two feet stand, it goes without saying; good or bad,  right or wrong, & of course, light or dark 0_O; for the year 2010 in the world of Dancehall & related genres, the Gaza Boss & DeeJay of the Year, Vybz di Teacha Kartel dominated with an iron fist (Thank God for I-Octane). A quick review of the big ones: Clarks (which is the last sighting of Mr’z melanin), the epic Bible Near MeTestify, the Ladies favz Turn & Whine & Dumpa, and the real kick in the chest; Dancehall Hero.

Hate him or love him, Mr. Palmer is a modern enigma. Much like Mr. West, he leads the way by violently hammering away at ingrained dogmas while staying relevant and true to form. In a culture & music in the midst of radical change, he has had no problem assuming the lead and taking the shots in stride. I salute you Adidjah; a year well played, for as always it is entertainment and you are an entertainer.  For the record I’m still a fan, so much so, after the break is one my oldest pictures of Kartel (might surprise some people!), before all the beef and bullshit. Taking the year out in style Vybz Kartel presents us with a gem, enjoy. 2k11 here we come…PDS to the world.

This is definitely one of those what the f**k posts. How did Miss LaBelle get on a track with big nose Lloyd? What is the world coming to? If I wanted Patti on a Hip-Hop track I’d go listen to this.

As we all know, Twitter has become the online destination for telling our random thoughts to friends and complete strangers in 140 characters or less. In fact, it’s even been used as a way for some celebrities to try and stay relevant to an audience by starting unneccessary Twitter beefs (ahem Raz B and Chris Brown). But it’s pretty cool when they let you in on fun stuff that occurs in their personal life and that’s exactly what R&B singer Brandy Norwood did earlier this week.

Now I did not just stay up till 1 a.m. last night playing Michael Jackson The Experience on the Wii to be brought this nonsense today. Apparently the man who the Jackson family feels killed their brother, son and father Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray,  is rallying with his lawyers to claim that MJ in fact killed himself and not him. On January 4th, a preliminary hearing will go down with Dr. Murray and he will face an involuntary manslaughter charge for the death of as we all know him, The King of Pop.

Lauryn is about to kick off her nationwide tour but before she does she did a warmup show in Brooklyn last night. Tickets were 75 bucks and she was over three hours late, but once she got there she definitely put on a show. More footage after the jump, I’m kind of mad that I didn’t make it but maybe I’ll catch her somewhere down the line. Tour dates are after the jump.
