As always PleaseDontStare brings you more than just music, movies, and miscellaneous news items, we also represent the culture that surrounds us every day. Here we have the work of Gregory Carter an upcoming young artist from Houston, Texas who studied at Morehouse University in Atlanta. While his earlier work was more political he has since moved on to do more universal work that appeals to the struggle of all peoples. His work is soon to be featured in New American Paintings volume 90, as well as in the only African-American literary journal, Callaloo. Last night, as most of NYC was looking towards the sky to get a glimpse of the perseid meteor shower and shooting stars, a few stars on earth were scurrying about to a secret location (The Box). It was for Ye’s Black-tie themed event,which was mandatory, called “Rosewood” which is what he’s calling his new Reservoir Dogs-esque style.
