Jovi Rockwell releases her long awaited mixtape “Psycho Therapy” today, November 11th. Jovi is known for her eccentric style and original flavor “Psycho Therapy” is no different. With guest appearances from Akon, Diplo, Major Lazer and more, Jovi’s “Psycho Therapy” is a refreshing listen.
Born in Kingston Jamaica to Cabaret Singer Winston Clarke and Fashionista and Beautician Marva Bloomfield-Clarke, Jovi is the definition of Uptown meets Downtown. A formula she says is embedded in her DNA . A formula which allows her to break the class barriers in her home town of Norbrook Kingston in her Native land of Jamaica.
“Music is Music, and I represent a culture not a specific area, the only time you belong in a box is when your dead” Jovi says, unapologetically. Her diversity has lead to the strong independent following. From songwriting with Ne-Yo, to recording duets with Akon & also featuring on the hipster esque ”Major Lazer” album (produced by Diplo & Switch) this summer.
