I like remixes that take the spirit of the original and update it to a new genre of music without too much editing. This does that quite well. Nicely done Mr. Mason, nicely done.

I’m a little late on this woman’s music but ah well it happens. I became an instant fan and had to go get some remixes to make up for my lateness. Watch the video and then grab both of these remixes below. The DC Breaks one is more straight up junglish while the Terror Danjah is just insane.

Another exclusive release from the COC, this time out we present the latest mix by Mixmason. We’ve featured him before on the site but this is the first time that the COC is cosigning his project. Dope mix by the dude, he says he did this straight one take as any real dj worth their salt should be able to do. Sadly, there are fewer and fewer of us around these days. Since his CD is called Shameless Self Promotion I’d be stupid not to direct you to my own volumes of mix cds available here. I think me and MixMason may have to do a collabo soon. In the meantime in between time hit the link and check him out for yourself. I wouldn’t even post him if I didn’t think he was up to snuff. We only love great djs here. Tracklisting after the jump.

“When approached about doing the video for Wait For Me, we were most interested in climbing inside a moment in someone’s life. We have long been interested in the experience of loneliness, and what happens when you feel the necessity to leave. We were motivated by the emotional landscape that unfolds when you stay within such a small and intimate narrative. In keeping with the DIY spirit of Moby’s album, we decided to limit the collaboration to ourselves and our subject.”
8 years after his first vinyl release Georg Levin can already be described as a long-time yet unlikely member of Berlin’s electronic music scene. With both his solo project and his production outfit Wahoo he is definitely too much on the soulful side to be a typical representative of the techno and rock sound the city is known for. However, it may be this supposedly alien surrounding that gives his compositions and productions a distinctive blend. To his credit Georg also had a no.1 on Traxsource in late 2009 as a precursor to the release of this, his debut album.
If I had heard this song last week it definitely would have made the tracklisting for Anatomy Of A Heartbreak. This joint is simply beautiful. No download on this one sorry but have a listen.

Everyone’s favorite video director Rik Cordero is also a beast behind the boards, and he proves it with this electro lite remix of Con’s posse cut of the year.

Here are a couple of remixes from one of my favorite groups that I’ve heard recently, the amazing The Fire and Reason. If you haven’t heard of them before check out more from them here and here. Then hit the jump for the download link. Both of these are hot effing fire. Electro is the new Hip-Hop.
You know that old saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover? Well don’t judge a video by it’s still image. This is dope and the video is hilarious. Like I said we getting on the hipster/electro for a quick second here…. check more from these guys at their myspace.
Okay we been on the Hip-Hop pretty strong over the last few days so lemme break up the monotony with a little bit from one of my favorite electro/hipster artists. We featured this song before here, but the dude Alex makes it entirely his own with this remix turning it into more of an electro up tempo dance record. While I prefer the original this is still very dope. The breakdown at 4:30 in is disgusting.
