Well you know where I’ll be Friday the 13th, rocking out with the one and only El-P. If you haven’t peeped his work with Killer Mike then you most definitely need to do so asap, it’s easily one of the best albums of the year. I’m sure El-P will bless us with some of his work from Company Flow, as well as his extended catalog of solo classics. I just need Killer Mike to do as much of R.A.P. as possible and I’ll be straight.

rtb2012-2

After missing the last few RTB’s with my all time faves such as Tribe, Nas (doing “Illmatic” at that), Mobb Deep, etc, I have been making it a mission to make it to this years edition of the popular rap festival. Although Tribe wont be making an appearance this years edition, you can expect to see Bone Thugs reuniting to perform “E. 1999 Eternally” in it’s entirety, and other vets such as Hit Squad, Ice Cube, Nas, Meth & Red, Missy and Timbaland, etc. Dont worry newbies, in addition to the “old man rap”, J. Cole, Wiz, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, ASAP rocky, and other will also be making appearances. Hit the jump for the full lineup and show dates/venues.

hot97-3

The house that Wendy and Flex built announced its lineup for this years Summer Jam, which will take place June 3rd at MetLife Stadium. Performers include:

Nicki Minaj (Headliner)
Rick Ross
Wale
DJ Khaled
Young Jeezy
Mavado
2 Chainz
Big Sean
Waka Flaka
French Montana
Maino
Tyga
Trey Songz

While I prefer the artists that will be performing at the pre-concert festival, I can understand the logic behind these selections and despite the list being filled with pure unadulterated LCD rap, what else would you expect from Hot 97?
